It takes a while but whether you like it or not, your brand new Macbook is going to slow down after a while. But that is usually not the fault of a person. That is just the way this device functions.
There are more than enough ways to salvage the situation. Of course, it is more or less impossible to revert the performance speed to what it was originally, but if things have become unbearable, you will certainly want to make some changes.
Below, you will find some neat tips to improve your Macbook speed. Make sure to read and apply them. You would be surprised by how much of a difference either of them could make.

System Storage Clearance
Judging by the name, it may appear as an extremely difficult operation to perform. But the reality is quite different. This one is all about removing unnecessary stuff. In other words, deleting files that have no use.
It is rather easy and takes as little as five minutes. If you do not have the understanding of how to clear up space on mac, this is what you do:
- Go to the downloads and look for the biggest .zip or .rar files.
- Click command + F3 while in on the desktop to access the screenshots.
- When you are in the applications folder, sort them by size and see which ones take the most.
- System junk can be deleted using software like CleanMyMac.
- Occasionally restart the computer so there is more RAM to be used.
After you get rid of all these files, the situation with your hard drive will improve tenfold. Also, keep in mind that you can purchase stuff like USB drives, external hard drives, or put some of your files in the cloud-based software.
Cache Files

Whether you like it or not, cache files will accumulate over time. They are not something to consider as a negative thing since cache files help to run the whole thing smoother.
Nevertheless, it is still a good piece of advice to periodically delete them. And this kind of thing is perfectly safe, so do not worry about damaging your system or anything like that.
Localization Files
Localization files are known as language files. Unless you are bilingual and speak multiple languages, there is really no need to keep something like that on your computer.
Start with launching the Finder and visiting the Application folder. Control + click on the application and choose “Show Package Contents”. Select “Resources” and you should see some files that end with .lproj. These are the files you want to put in the trash box. Keep in mind that you do not have to delete every single one of them. In case you are using a particular language, leave it as it is.
Backups
Backups are also something that can go out of control if you are not careful. There are old iTunes library backups, old iOS update backups, old software and application backups, and so on. Finding and getting rid of these backups should not be a problem.
Get an SSD

Solid-state drives are becoming a norm on pretty much all computers, not just Macbooks. Getting one does not cost that much as well since new and upgraded models come out every year, leaving you with plenty of cheap alternatives.
You will be surprised by the difference an SSD makes. Some would argue that there is no better method than this to boost up the speed. Therefore, if you have some money to spare, be sure to get a solid-state drive for yourself.
Desktop
Some individuals have this terrible habit of putting everything on their desktop because they believe that it helps a lot when everything is in the same place. Well, it just so happens that this kind of behavior only makes you look like a messier person. Folders exist for a reason.
But the much bigger problem is how much a clunky desktop slows down the overall performance of a Macbook. Every time you switch to desktop, the computer needs to refresh those icons and it takes a lot of resources. You will find this tip almost everywhere.
Clean All the Dust

As a final tip, look to clear the dust and other dirt that may be in the computer. Even if it is not apparent looking at your Macbook from the outside, these things happen regardless. And the problem becomes quite apparent when the sound becomes unbearable.
In a word, when you do end up in a situation when working with your current Macbook is not as fun as it was before all the problems with the performance started, there is no need to purchase a brand new computer. The tips mentioned above will turn the whole situation around and you will be able to enjoy spending your time in front of the Macbook like in the very beginning.
